Give me a hug to last a lifetime ‘cause I don’t want to let you go. If I had a hug to last a lifetime, I’d always feel you close. Even when you’ve left this world, and I’m feeling all alone, if I had a hug to last a lifetime I’d be OK here on my own. If somehow I could feel you still pressed against my shirt, I’d hold onto that feeling to calm some of the hurt. So the next time that you hug me I’m gonna make it stay, a hug to last a lifetime even after you’ve gone away.

Your poem is so sweet that it warms my heart. It gives off a bittersweet feeling, though, as you expressed how much a hug from the person meant to you alongside the knowledge that the good times will inevitably be left in the memory of that hug. Your writing gets that feeling across nicely and I love it.

Warm, fuzzy, and so snuggly till I am in tears!!!!! This is so it! This is the feeling within myself that I could never pin down! You kind of help me indentify something within myself to start a whole new process of healing! Thank you, precious one!
Thank you for your feedback. ❤️
