Dear God ….oh Allah ….oh Merciful one, my heart, my mind, my body …my soul drowns in agony. My chest is buried by the tears of my people. I can’t breathe, I can’t sleep, I can’t eat, I can’t BREATHE. I seek Justice, I seek peace, I seek strength, I seek love, I seek guidance. I seek unity. Where are my fellow neighbors? Where are my fellow friends? Where are my human friends? Where are my Jewish friends? Where are my Christian friends? Where are my Muslim Friends? Where are Hindu friends? Where are my Sikh friends? Where are my Buddhist friends? Where are my atheist friends? Where my philosopher friends? Where are my Feminist friends? Where are my Doctors, my Scholars, my Scientists, my pro-human soldiers and officers? Where are my kind, peace and unity talking Politicians? Where are my loving Poetry speaking friends? Where are my journalists, my lawyers, my state leaders, my brothers and my sisters, my mothers and fathers? Where are my fellow human beings? Where are they? I need them!!! I need them to meet me half way. I need them right now!!! No more shootings, no more fights, ….no more anger, no more deadly nights, …Just want, just need, just seeking, just awaiting, just thirsty for my fundamental Human rights. Dear God please protect the lives of my fellow Human beings suffering through this endless battle of Left and Right, of North and South, of us versus them, of us and them, of them and us. To my fellow friends: There is no them and us, there is only WE ….a community of Human beings. WE must be fair, WE must not despair one another over land ownership, WE are not the makers of this land, WE are merely settlers, nomads traveling through life, learning from one another on how to better respect, tolerate, and love each other. WE are not the makers of these lands, WE are not the designers, WE are settlers, WE were made by the maker of these lands…God. WE are from Adam, WE are an integration, an assimilation, a union….a group….a community…a pool…a sea…an ocean of the human race. The more WE cage ourselves in and apart from each other, the more lost WE become, the more ignorant WE become, the less humility WE hold, the less HUMANITY WE preserve. As Martin Luther King Junior once said, “We may have all come on different ships, but we’re in the same boat now”. WE are linked to each other, there is not one without the other. It’s like a domino effect, when one falls, the others fall as well. When one is hurt, WE all hurt. All voices must be heard, all concerns must be addressed, but WE cannot claim to be HUMAN, if WE disregard the rights and issues of one nation, of one group, of one voice. EVERY SINGLE VOICE COUNTS … EVERY HUMAN LIFE IS PRECIOUS. The Human race is one big tree, and WE are the roots, without the roots the tree dies. WE must preserve our roots by nourishing it with kindness, tolerance, strength, justice …LOVE.
