You loved me like it was true.
You left me drowning in lies.
You stole the one heart I had.
And wore it like a prize.
You danced upon the death of us.
You ignored the pain you felt now.
You broke a piece in my heart.
And left me wondering how.
How could you leave?
And make me believe?
The death of your soul.
No time to grieve.

I don’t know why but every time I read a poem about love or heartbreak, there is novelty in each poem because everyone- the poet or the narrator- loves and lives differently. This one is the same. Lovely!
