I will lie silent, for I choose the quiet
Cause I can’t take shelter from monsters who buy it
So closed eyes I have to this stupendous movie
Well don’t you see, we are living chains…and that’s free?
Oh please, just please save me the simplicity
There is no way that’s true can’t see that, honestly
Okay, so you may argue but you can not see
That the system has won, now you are a zombie
Now go wobble along until your own headshot
Or come cut out their bs and join the real plot
And it’ll be long, and too, it’ll be hard
But aren’t you, too, so tired of being played on
And aren’t you the one who said this world is f-cked up
And aren’t you the one who said there’s no ship to jump
Cause if I heard right then what are you so stuck for
Come on, grab my hand, let’s get moving the f-ck on

Man, If you play the video with the poem it actually goes with it perfectly.
PS: That was not intentional. The poem came first, media came second. Lol.
Wow, that was cool you were able to find a beat to go with your piece. I took me a second, but I was able to match the rhythms of the two fairly quickly. As I read it in my head, my “voice” (there’s a word for this; I just can’t remember) morphed into a spoken word piece and eventually a rap. I would suggest to others to read the piece first before playing the video; I got distracted the first time trying to match the rhythms, and I wasn’t processing the meaning of words or what the poem was talking about until the second time.
Thank you so much, RaR. This was created from the top of my head so it’s truly an honor that you liked it. I agree with what you said, by the way. 🙂
