The classroom news cut short. As we seen a special report. The buildings were on fire. 1st grade me could not comprehend. The scene of smoke bellowing into the sky. Imagine you were there. In the office trapped not knowing if it is your last second. The courage of those people that fought until they could not fight anymore. The blood and ash all mixed into one. The sirens of the fallen heroes coming to the aid of thousands now are in our memory. We shall always remember the day that our country fell but rose as one.

Every take on 9/11 drawn from the perspective of someone too young to have any control of events is interesting to me. There’s a special brand of helplessness and slow-dawning horror that I feel a lot of young children had to come to grips with after watching the twin towers fall, and your writing did a good job at putting it to paper.
