Ingredients:
*1 cup of oil
*1 cup of milk
*1 cup of sugar
*4 eggs
*9 tsp of baking powder
*4 cups of flour
*anise extract
*confectioner sugar
Ingredients for icing:
*powdered sugar
*anise extract
*water
Directions:
1) Preheat oven to 350.
2) In a mixing bowl, add flour, baking powder, and sugar. In the center of the bowl, create a well, and add the oil, milk, 1 tablespoon of anise extract, and eggs. Gradually add the wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms.
3) Oil your hands and form the dough into small balls. Place the balls onto a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Flatten the cookies a bit.
4) Bake the cookies for 10 minutes or until the bottom of the cookie is light brown color.
5) Allow the cookies to cool after baking.
6)While the cookies cool, start to create your anisette icing by combining 1 teaspoon of anise extract, hot water, and confectioner’s sugar.
7) Dip the cookies into the anisette icing, and allow them to harden.
