The behavior, mentality, mind-games, and immaturity that were present among the majority of inmates in prison twelve years ago are still present today. What has changed is my awareness of its presence, having been accentuated throughout the years by my need for understanding human behavior objectively and subjectively, and my ability to deal with such awareness in such a way that brings fruition to my pacifistic tendencies. Not an easy task, luckily having been accomplished without physical altercations, although I found that it is more costly to the mind when resolving to primitive techniques of conflict resolution by use of the masses of flesh and bones.
Paranoia runs wild, and so do rumors. Most everybody is a thespian in the most important play of their made up world, which is limited to the imagination of a mind left to its own device, as well as its own demise.
On the surface it looks like wildly sophisticated behavior. But a down to earth discussion reveals an eccentric approach to the art of cognition. A tough, life long criminal minded individual, that has not spent any time in pursuit of a better self, cries tears of fear at the possibility of seeing his teenage son.
The master thespian, much to the surprise of most, is me, the pacifist. At times I must become a simpleton to be able to converse with the simpleton. And at times I must be vulgar and viciously verbal in order to get the point across to the one who speaks no other language besides vulgarity.
A fisherman uses a foul looking and tasting worm to catch the fish. A fisherman of men must at times use a foul “worm” to catch the attention of foul men, at which point he can begin feeding them, tasteful words through delicate attention to the timeliness of the opportunity which arises not too often .
