I hold you in my mind the way a hummingbird sips at the feeder.
I roll that sweet, wet drop that is you along my tongue and against my teeth…
I am parched, deprived of you.
I want to taste every trace of you along my palette.
You illuminate the sky of flavor my tongue exists to feel
You heat my skin.
These days I am tasting color and
seeing fruit against the summer sky.
You are the greenest green.
The very raw Earth, and I’m diggin’ it.
Cultivating the simplest carbons of creation
You nourish me.
Adam you’re the apple, and I wanna eat all the fruit under the bright night sky
with you.
Fuck forbidden, we are forever!
A love that blows effortlessly into the wind.
A vine that climbs for the sun,
yet doesn’t check for approval
&
Flourishes.
A coffee made too hot,
A kiss so sweet,
A connection so fucking true.
I so love you.

You can really feel the intensity and passion in this poem. I like how you played with order of rhyming sentences and were obscure in some of your descriptions, like here:
These days I am tasting color and
seeing fruit against the summer sky.
That’s really great imagery for the reader and ignites other senses while reading. It’s also nice to make references, i.e. Adam, in literary work – to challenge yourself you can search for more unconventional characters to incorporate into your poetry and give deeper references.
