Sitting at the kitchen table
It’s just a little past noon
Remembering all the celebrations
That was once shared in this room
The family would always gather
Mostly around the holidays
To catch up on old times
While the children would go out and play
The food would be simmering
But none would be consumed
Until the rest of the family
Would gather in that same room
Then everyone would hold hands
And slowly bow their heads
Giving thanks for the food prepared
Before anyone is fed
And once the prayer was over
They would confirm the prayer again
By expressing the simplest sentiment
As they all say, Amen

This is so sweet! A great reminder of the importance of family now that the holidays are over.
