Fears, and frustrations, and failures
The three are the bane of most lives;
But these are the brick and the mortar,
Upon which the artist does thrive.
Fear stirs the writer to efforts-
Revealing those things deep within
And gives us a clear understanding-
Of what lies in the hearts of all men.
Frustration, ah! One can write volumes-
Of loves, and of loss, and of lies-
Of dreams which have not reached fulfillment-
Without dreams the soul quickly dies.
Failure? Why! I am an expert-
At never quite reaching set goals-
And yet in my failure at living-
Successfully, life I extol….
Fear, and frustration, and failure-
I am well versed in all three-
And not only, friend, do I know them-
They’re also acquainted with me.
