Let me start by saying
This isn’t anti–male
As to iterate
That I’m not
Nor would I wish
To speak for you
Out of turn
Or any
For those that do not ask
Or relate.
But to the women,
The girls,
Lonely;
You are not alone
How these words
Some days
Leave little solace.
Too soft
Must be bait
or practice
For the “real” thing
How they claim
These desired traits,
At the right time
Of course.
naïve, gullible…
Submissive,
But not protected.
Isn’t that then
What you asked for?
Sweet, open, loving,
Soft.
Balance.
Too hard
Competition
Too smart
But, not as smart
As you think you are
Or could be
Or hoped for.
Too tough…
These positions
Better, to knock us down.
Why
Would you try
To be so manly;
Fight,
For these coveted positions
To earn that
Which we desire
Desire?
Passion,
But not too much.
We all want to see it
But, don’t let it show –
Keep it professional…
I mean,
Professional
For a woman.
Best stay quiet.
Silence;
Thank you God
For the rustling of the trees
And these birds singing-
How we count our blessings.
Please,
Help us find our place.
