Darkness fell on the silent night
Every second I wait, my body fills with fright
He stomps through the door, not even closing it
My body gives up with every hit
Spots of black fill my sight
My being can’t even put up a fight
He finally stops, leaving me looking lifeless
Like a bird without wings; flightless.
I pick myself off the floor.
Wanting to escape, I make my way to the open door.
A strong hand turns me around, grabbing my wrist tight.
He shouts at me, “You know you are never getting out, right?”
