The day has finally come and I’m dating Gladys
We’re both now in fifth grade and ten-years-old
But we got a new teacher named Mr. McGwincy
Now in the fifth grade I’ve been awaiting to date
Say Mr. McGwincy how have you’ve been lately?
His answer is great and his plans for us are good
Now that the entire student body is of school-age
Many people has either been held back or skipped
I can now say I’m proudly dating as fifth graders
Well me and Gladys has been waiting for so long
That our time has come and we are so proud of it
Can’t I say that I’m in love with Gladys Schuckner?
Say Gladys what do you like mostly about myself?
Well I love your charming smile and your bravery
Say Hughes what do you like mostly about herself?
Well I love your beautifulness and your happiness
Welcome to the fifth grade my students age of ten
And I would like to say that Markevious is friendly
Now that his bullying past is behind his kindliness
So he wishes to start over and put his past behind
Please don’t be frightened by him he’s so very kind
And his pantsing days are now over and he’s better
Never judge a book by it’s cover students the lesson
So look at the bright side of things and be so kindly
There’s so much to learn as a fifth grade boy or girl
So let’s begin with a historical lesson and it is great
Now there’s Christopher Columbus in the Americas
But the lesson is best when as is told by a storyteller
So let’s begin with Hughes Griffley c’mon on up here
And shall we begin with a little skit with its characters
Hughes you’ll be Christopher Columbus any volunteers?
Ah yes Gladys Schuckner you may come on up as well
Anyone else want to join Hughes and Gladys as a skit?
Welcome up to the front as a newcomer is coming up
And his name is William O’Connor as we welcome you
So anybody want to join Hughes, Gladys and William?
Welcome to the play of Christopher Columbus’ journey
And that’s all the characters so far anybody in this skit?
So we welcome up Fauntasia McNamara up to the front
Tell me Miss. McNamara what do you want to play in this?
I want to play a female sailor of course Mr. McGwincy I do
The characters are set and let’s begin with each characters
So we begin and end in America with the journeys of ships
And that’s a wrap and great job to you all time for farewells
