I no longer live here, this is not my home.
My failures haunt me in this place, bitter memories live and roam.
I walk the hall and wonder when
the laughter faded, never heard again.
I felt so free, but had to return
The pain redoubled, it’s weight I cannot spurn.
The words are suffocating to say, and so this simple poem,
Do not look for me here again, this is not my home.

“My failures haunt me in this place, bitter memories live and roam.” – This was the line that really stood out to me. I especially like the use of the word “roam.” It’s very descriptive and gives off a lonely feel which fits well with the poem.
Quite well laid words that express the parting after intimate moments and frustration that follows. Practically this is what is experienced by many as seen in the past. The way its is reflected precisely in very few lines speaks of the command the author has on literature. I greatly appreciate Supham02 on it.
If I could describe this poem in one word, I’d use scorn. You can really feel the resentment and draw this “home” has. I like it.
I can definitely relate to this poem and so much is said in such a short amount of words..very revealing thank you for sharing
