Three score and ten if more or less a short life filled with pain and some pleasure at best. God give us our first breath and with love and his spirit we live here as only a test, because He for us a blessed body immortal and eternal forever with Him rest!
If there be no God
then there is no heaven
there is no hell
and there is no after-life
and all mankind fail
words His holy Bible
nothing more than a lie
only told as an empty tale
but there is a GOD!
If there be no God
then there is no salvation
there is no hope
left without an inclination
and we have not a spirit or soul
flesh and blood only
dust to dust and ashes to ashes
signifies the end
but there is a GOD!
If there be no God
life is incoherent
what man accomplishes is void
eternal a useless statement
and at right or wrong be annoyed
the grave a poor place to rest
every birthday an overbearing sadness
at the cemetery our last memory a rock set
but there is a GOD!
If there be no God
our feelings fool us
love could never be the inner depths
anything this world hopelessly trust
life with sickness and disease an abuse
our only desire is just another breath
and we only live to please the flesh
but I’m so filled with a blessed assurance
I know there is a living GOD!
