Understand that a lifestyle change is exactly that. It’s a change.
I will be discussing topics of legal drugs, weight loss and weight gain, and becoming who you want to be in our ideal selves.
Legal drugs: First of all, in most states across the U.S the legal drinking age is 21 and in some states that also identified with smoking tobacco. These two are both intended to be used responsibly which is an ironic thing because they are usually bought at a time when responsible aren’t exactly the words we’re trying to be. Some people’s bodies are meant to consume, while other bodies cannot operate in excess. We are all a bit jealous of the ones who seem to be able to go the distance with these legal substances. But we also may feel discretion, concern and caution for these folks. Though I don’t advice doing anything that makes one uncomfortable, we do also have a natural inkling of curiosity every once in a while, and more often than not, are shortly punished or disappointed in the ideal outcome. There are plenty of writers who participate in this art, practice and lifestyle without the necessity of tobacco and alcohol.
Weight loss: Anyone who is on a weight loss journey, very well knows that it is a journey. Without giving too much insight into my personal life, I have been on a weight loss journey since March of 2016, where I had gained a substantial amount of weight and became temporarily obese. The first step in that process was to in fact take more steps. On average most people only take about 5,000-15,000 steps per day. This includes athletes and people who take at least fifteen minute walks. What this equates to is about 2-7 miles per day.
If one were to take 4 fifteen minute walks a day, this would help. Many things can help! But my journey has been gradual and now I’m in a phase where I wish the process to go faster. Walking was the start.
Every five pounds of weight loss is a different lifestyle. Soon after walking more for about 3 months I had lost ten pounds. My diet was a steady intake of sugar waters, energy drinks, coffee’s, basically enough to keep me hydrated, but also a bit wired. It wasn’t until I lost an additional 5-10 pounds that I had began having less cravings. It’s incredible what the body does. It’s as if suddenly the body has taken in these not so positive additives and then it gets bored and tired and tried something new, and luckily, something healthier, like less caffeine and more water. Now don’t be fooled, these cravings still happen, and I’m not one to deny what the body wants, but I’m also trying to be more aware as my body sends me new positive messages. But believe me, my body sends me mixed signals. All we can do is keep our eyes on the road and not swerve too far away from our path and direction.
Who we want to be in our desired selves: I’m not sure about you, but I really do enjoy writing, but I also find that I only have so much to write about. I am excited with my binge writing that I have allowed myself to partake in, but it was because I had in fact had several life changes. I went off my beaten path a bit, I also lost five more pounds. But now I have new goals in mind like losing even more weight and trying a new lifestyle such as drinking more water and trying to turn my walks into runs. Sometimes we have to walk a path until we get light enough and strong enough to start going at a new speed and take charge. I think I’m ready for that and am interested with who I meet along the way. I will check in after a few weeks or so, but I have enjoyed reading and will continue to do so but might hold off until my new changes bulk up for new writing. I try not to repeat myself, but I gladly will in a new way around October. I wish you all well. And please keep writing, but also know to take breaks to tackle other pressing issues. We all write for various reasons and I had an inspired few days. Please look back on my writings, and feel free to message me. I will try to be calculated in my feedback and writing, as I have been these past few days. Cheers, and keep writing!!!
