Chapter 1
They say that you never forget your first love. When I was younger I did not really know what that meant, until I met Alic. The first time we met I was 12 and he was 14. As time went by he did not pay much attention to me, I was just his little sisters best friend. When I graduated high school we saw each other again, he had come to see his sister graduate. Our families had dinner together to celebrate that milestone in their daughters lives. I still had a crush on Alic and this time he seemed to notice me too. As was the tradition in my family that summer after I graduated I got to choose where I wanted to spend my summer vacation and I would be allowed to bring a friend. Of course I chose Alic’s sister Anne, after all she was my best friend. We chose to go to Greece for the sunshine, the culture and according to Anne the men. The day we were leaving we found out that Alic would be joining us. “Mom, why does Alic have a bag?” “Oh dear I forgot to tell you, Anne’s parent’s agreed to let her go if Alic went.” Anne was upset about it but I was secretly happy.
As fate would have it Alic was seated next to me while Anne was seated across the isle. Two hours into the flight I head, “So…What made you pic Greece? Was it the guys?” Alic asked as he flipped through a magazine. “I actually wanted to go to see the ruins. I am going to be a history major and hope to go into archeology.” Alic looked at me surprised, “I see and how is it that a level headed girl like yourself is friends with miss kiss anything in a pair of paints over there?” I couldn’t help but smile, Anne had, had several boyfriends. “She was the only one. I am a bit of a wallflower.” We chit chatted the rest of the flight. By the time we reached Greece I felt really comfortable talking with him. Not only was Alic a Greek god but he was smart and the two of us actually had a lot in common.
