We know we all had them as a child,
Imaginary friends were so our friends.
Have you ever had them growing up,
Just as they were there even if pretend.
Youngsters all around us all had them,
They gave those names and nicknames.
Just like we were named for what’s fun,
Happy kids all around us and its games.
I had an imaginary friend once as a kid,
I think his name was Fredrick Gilligans.
I don’t know I was like four and a child,
I had a friend who got through pretends.
He loved me and I so loved him,
He was my bestie and I’m his own.
He and I wish together as a friend,
He wanted to come into my home.
As a helpless kiddo such as myself,
I couldn’t do anything to be happy.
My imaginary friend was impressive,
He kept me on both of my two feet.
Over and over again I was complete,
Overly jumping for my wildest joys.
Just as my four-year-old self happily,
I had it all even the best of my toys.
Listening to his stories was all blast,
Kidding around as we were so free.
I so didn’t wish that it could even last,
I was such a happy kid once as three.
Opening a brand new world of opportunity,
He and I the wildest and besties for life.
Happily, as a child, I felt that I was so very free,
I’ll be sad as he disappeared into the night.
