Inside my head
The tears unable to shed, saturating me
No one but me can see
Not in my terms, the pain I can’t flee
How much more, how many more days
To stand.. To withstand,
For the ones I love, the ones who love me,
But I cannot love freely, they cannot see
My reaching hands
Obscured by the fog
Inside my head

I love this. I don’t know why. Perhaps because I sensed a bit of myself in this poem. It’s hard to have so many things going on inside and not be able to express it. It can cause us to feel trapped inside of ourselves, which can, in turn, alter our perception of the world. A cloudless sky with a sun shining brightly through the peaks of the trees can feel anything but beautiful to someone feeling as though they can’t escape their thoughts or their pain. Good job with this poem. I think there are many people who can relate to this. It’s so real, but often times this kind of rawness is avoided and even shunned. Sometimes it takes but one person to speak for the rest who cannot speak themselves.
Thank you.
Very relatable. Sad but true.
