There are times to be thankful for even the passing moments, or the lowly
places that keep us humble. And let our hearts truly be thankful for our place in this world if even we feel at the bottom, a doormat and the dirt from some know but yet be happy, thankful, and thanksgiving!
Even a doormat
your house be
so pleased and glad
the dirt your feet
be my pleasure
feet or shoes clean
with happiness endure
because each time
in or out you I’d see
your eyes kind
maybe notice
lowly doormat like me!
Those you invite
jealousy from below
clean their shoes try
just so you know
it’s your feet obliged
mostly you to please
try not ever pry
after all here I’ve agreed
days wet or dry
dirt or mud
this place stay
doormat I know, but your heart I pray!
I wonder someday
old, ugly, and ragged
new doormat replace
would I be trashed?
Oh if a mirror
at least eye to eye
or a spoon, then near
ribbon your hair tied
feel the softness
your hair so close
to your thoughts, nest
but a doormat, lovely f
eet I know!
