We sat outside on a porch swing.
The wind blew a gentle breeze that
cooled off the summer night.
He strummed the strings of his guitar and sang softly.
It turned into a secret serenade that I wont soon forget.
He sang “Amazed” by lonestar.
He finished the song with a big smile.
He put the guitar down and put his arm around my shoulders,
Pulling me closer to him.
He kissed my cheek and I leaned my head on his shoulder.
It was better than the movies.
My fifteen year old mind couldn’t have imagined anything better than that moment.
He tucked my hair gently behind my ear and whispered “I love you”
I didn’t know what to do.
Didn’t know what to say.
My heart raced almost out of my chest.
I smiled softly and my eyes filled up with tears.
I’d never heard that simple sentence from anyone but my family.
He kissed my lips and when he pulled away I giggled, “I love you too”.
It felt awkward and strange.
But I figured it was just because it was something new.
The light of the moon started to shine,
every star seemed to as well, even brighter than normal.
it was as if God himself painted a canvas and allowed us to live in it for just a moment in time.

Beautiful imagery! I like the contrast that you created in the beginning between the gentle breeze cooling off the summer night after a presumably hot day.
