Chapter: 1
“Oh no, what did they do to me?” his angry outburst lined his throat with disgust. He then tries to stagger to the kitchen, heading for the sink. He was hoping to try and make himself throw up, to get the poison out of his system. He wasn’t sure how much time he had.
He had been out with friends, “friends” he said rather sarcastically. People with whom he trusted, obviously his trust was misplaced. He should have been more careful who he called friends.
Stumbling towards the kitchen he reached the bar first and leaned his heavy frame up against it. It was funny how when the poison is running through your body that life seems to slow down. It felt like he was pulling the whole weight of his house over towards with him, not just his body. In his line of work as a Bounty Hunter, this is what happens when you get to close to people. You make enemies out of everyone. Someone always has a score to settle, especially when you’re good at your job. But now look, there was no one to blame but himself. “Maybe death will come swiftly, and not linger,” he spoke out loud.
When he arrived back at his home, a place off in a the distance, it was around 8:30 p.m. He had an early day tomorrow so he decided to cut it short, call it a night.
Living in beautiful state of Arizona you often enjoyed a beautiful sunset. The colors was breathtaking, colors of warm burnt sienna and cadmium yellow painted an amazing sunset. And his house was located almost in the midst of deep brown Arizona mountains. The way his house was neatly tucked away in the midst of the mountains gave him the perfect place to live. He was glad he called Arizona his home, the place was so peaceful wrapped around the mountains. Up until a couple of months ago when he met this nice couple.
He glanced up at his sliding glass doors, the blinds had been open before he went out to dinner. And now the midnight blue sky was all he could see, darkness. This was kind of fitting since he felt like he was slowly fading to black. He remained slump over on the bar for what felt like hours, but in reality, only 30 minutes had past from the time he stepped in the front door.
His head felt light as if it wasn’t really on his head. His breath was coming quicker and quicker, along with his heart racing. It was like his body was beating faster than he could keep up. He fell when he launched towards the sink, he tried to move too quickly around the bar. He was startled that he didn’t knock anything over. He always kept his home organized, everything had its place.
A small round oak kitchen table in the middle of the floor with two chairs. A couple of bar stools at the bar. No dishes were left in the sink, ‘no sense in setting out a place for bugs.’ A coffee pot on the left side of the counter, a wine rack over in the corner of the other. He lived for order and not chaos, his job brought plenty of chaos.
