My heart my soul they’re hardened stone cold.
They’ve died while walking down this lonely road.
There’s no one to take my pain away,
There’s no one to give me a place to stay.
To keep me warm from the wind that cuts my skin.
There’s no one to free me from the hunger that aches within.
I’ve screamed I’ve shouted but to no avail.
Why attempt a task, if all tasks are meant to fail.
Why live a life that’s not worth living,
A life where birds have ceased to be singing,
A life where flowers refuse to grow,
A life where life refuses to show.
Life has died because of the winter storm
Now in all places misery is born
It’s watered and grows with all forms of pain
It has taken over, hope has left no stain
I battle I fight within myself
To take my life…to take my life
My dreams have become a reality to me
It’s in them, in them I begin to see
I life full of love a life full of hope
A life full of youth, a life I can cope
Then they’re gone, and I can no longer see.
Then I awake, and i am no longer free.
I heard a story long ago
Of a man who took his life to show,
His love for all both good and bad
But in the end wasn’t he sad?
Do I fall under the same circumstances
Can I kill in reparation for all offenses
That have attacked my body, heart, and soul
That have left me for dead, nowhere to go
Suffocated by silence, so blinded by ignorance
My heart is crushed by my very souls distance
My mind is lost in loneliness
I’m frightened and cold in this dark abyss
Yet I walk, I walk, a mystery to me
Why I walk, if hope I cannot see
I fall to the ground, confusion has taken me
My sight is blurred by tears…I cannot see
They water the earth, they give life to a seed
A flower springs forth, in that flower lies beauty
I stop, I stare, I freeze in time
I wish this moment would never pass by
I reach to pluck this beautiful flower
But my hand is touched, I can reach no farther
A child is crouched before my eyes
His face so innocent, so full of light
He says to wait, to let it grow
And in the end, it’ll be mine to show.
I reach again I want it so…
“No” he says, “leave it alone
It will follow you wherever you go
And if you love it will grow.
Desire to love, that’s all you need
And in the end you will see.
Where there is love, there lies beauty.
Where there is hope, all is able to be seen.
When life is lived in selflessness,
There no longer exists your loneliness;
But always comfort is given in suffering.
This comfort is knowing your doing the right thing.
The child stood up and walked away
I said nothing because I was so amazed
This child had found me, lost I was
But he brought me back, he showed me love
The flower vanished, I arose and began
My journey on this road where life began.
I continued my journey, in seek of my friend
My friend whom part of his soul did lend
To me for I was lost but found
He gave me love, now to him I was bound
For the rest of my days I promised to love
This beautiful child, perfection he was
He was made of gold, he was hope to all
He was gone yet lived inside my soul.
Time passed by, and I grew older
Then one day, a scream I heard, pass over my shoulder
I turned, I saw a child being beaten
but not one sound came from him
He took it in silence, he took it with patience
They kicked, they mocked, I wanted vengeance
Was this the child so long ago
Who found me dying, and showed me love
I ran to him but he shook his head
Without speaking to me, he spoke and said
“Leave me alone, let me be
Beaten by these terrible men you see
I tried to steal their hearts, to steal them like I did with yours ( like yours?)
Now My blood from my body like a waterfall pours (now from my body blood dos por)
They want nothing to do with me
They love not, so in me they cannot see
Beauty as you saw so soon
They will soon meet their doom
I closed my eyes from this terrible sight
Hatred toward them, I had to fight
Then all noises ceased, and I felt again time freeze
The only noise could be heard was the whisper of a breeze
I opened my eyes and the men were gone
And the day was beginning, for it was dawn
I saw his body lying still on the ground
Nothing came from him, not one sound
I ran to him, held him in my arms
Should I have prevented him from deaths harm
Could I have stopped them? Why didn’t he let me
My heart tore inside, I loved him so dearly
He showed me all he showed me love
I fell to the ground, love had taken me
My sight was blurred by tears…I could not see
They watered the earth, they gave life to a seed
A flower sprung forth, the same flower, came back to me
The child disappeared before my eyes
It was just me, this un blossomed flower, I wish time would not pass by
I bent my head down toward the flower, I kissed it tenderly
For in it I saw only the child and his beauty
I bathed it’s body with my tears
My heart, soul, and love with it I shared
My tears trickled down its beautiful stem
When they touched the ground, it began to blossom
I could feel its breadth come into me
It’s breadth from the pedals opening
It was conscious of the love I gave
It was conscious that itself was made
By love by tears by suffering
And then it spoke it began to sing
“Love has died. For the price of love, is death.”

You have a natural sense of rhythm! I wonder if you would be interested in learning how to write blues poetry? I’m also curious to know why you chose to have a lengthy poem as opposed to a shorter one?
