Proof

So we’ve spoken before
That we need to do more
When it comes to the issue of racism
If we’d really only think
That we could be on the brink
Of a permanent national schism
Again and again
We see the same sin
Of hatred towards one another
Why can’t we just greet
Everyone that we meet
As a brother from another mother
Black and white
Are precious in his sight
Were Words growing up I would sing
And although that is true
When mixed couples walk through
We still feel that all familiar sting
What we need today
Is people who don’t sway
But stand firm in this obvious truth
Loving one another
Seeing that man as your brother
Shows what’s deep in your heart; it’s your proof
