Sometimes, I hesitate to even write this book.
This novel touches some corny and comical subjects, but I am still cautious about writing it all down in a long book. I don’t want anyone mentioned in the book to feel like they’ve been publicly humiliated in any way. Trust me when I say that this is all for comedy and pleasure, both for myself and others. But for the safety and comfort for all those involved, I will refer to them all as (anonymous). I will dive deeper into the stories after each essay.
Anyway, after that disclaimer, now let’s actually talk about the book!
This all began during eighth grade (BTW I personally feel like middle school is horrible compared to high school). It was in around late September or early October. We were in our American History class, and my teacher wanted to do an activity about the Salem Witch Trials. What he did was he secretly assigned two students to be “witches”, and everyone had to answer questions. Through those answers (the interviewees were allowed to make them up), we as students would make an accusation on who the “witches” were.
Well. I wrote an essay on how my history teacher himself was a witch. Well, eight of them, actually. As you can probably tell, I was an avid writer back then as well.
Actually, I always was a serious and avid writer, and I’ve always had my deep, lifelong, and extremely serious passion, love, and adoration of writing, reading, literature, and language arts for as long as I can remember. Like a lot of writers, I have my own “eras” of writing. I wrote those witch essays during my “comedy” era.
I absolutely love and adore writing of all sorts, and it’s been that way ever since I first learned how to read and write. I obviously can’t do every kind of writing all at once, so I focus on one mega-project for a while, then take a break and roam free, then do another project.
The witch/comedy saga was right after I finished the first era of the Durids saga. The Durids epic novels are a science fiction and fantasy hybrid. “Durids” translates to “Dark Jewel”. (I extremely admire J.R.R. Tolkein, he’s one of my favorite authors, and I love reading the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. In those books, he created his own languages, so I tried to do the same with this epic novel saga.)
I didn’t know what to do next, so I tried comedy writing and witchcraft essays out. (Yes, I consider joke-writing literature. Comedy writing and joke literature are more similar to other kinds of prose than different.)
Apart from the numerous amount of (bad) jokes I’ve been writing, I’ve been spending hours on Google Docs every week writing these essays. And this book will dissect each and every one of them, as well as provide more backstory to everything.
