White buildings,
with tile rooftops, some blue,
and white walls, short.
Cobblestone walkways,
perched atop, an ancient caldera,
that is now an island.
Fluffy white clouds.
Bright blue sky.
Cruise ships in the bay below,
donkeys carrying riders to the top,
in the distance the island,
it slopes off more smoothly,
and a few cars drive, on few roads.
A small island paradise.
Tourists, shops, friendly folks.
A little black dog, short legs,
he follows me as I wander.
A kindly little fellow,
amongst the welcoming people,
in the Mediterranean sea,
on beautiful, Santorini.

I really enjoyed reading this piece. I have never been to Santorini, but your descriptive language helped to create a picture in my mind while I was reading. This is a sign of a good writer. I like how you rhymed the last two lines of the poem. It adds a nice final touch.
Thank you very much. It is a truly stunning island. I hope you get to go some day. Hope I get to go back too! 🙂
