You can't wear that, she said. You're much too fat. I sighed. Put the dress back on the rack. Well, at least I tried. Might as well stay home, she said. After all, you're used to being alone. I groaned. You said I should go. You lied. See that woman over there? She has such lovely hair. You should do that, she said. I cried. But I don't want it dyed. Change is good! she said, insisting. Why do you keep on resisting? I'm me. and that's all I need to be. And you know something else, annoying voice in my head? You should shut up now, She finally said. Enjoyed reading and a positive self-conscience is always better, thanks for sharing.
Thank you. Yes, Self Confidence is always better. Unfortunately, even though we know we SHOULD feel that way about ourselves, a lot of people don’t. It’s good to know when you’re not alone though.
I relate to this on such a personal level. I feel like there’s two of me- the one who likes to go our and hang out with friends and do her makeup, and the other, who notices all the pudge on her body and the limpness of her hair and how everyone around her is much more gorgeous/ knows how to make themselves even more gorgeous. Thanks for putting my thoughts into words!
I think most of us feel this way, unfortunately. Thank you for the feedback and comments.
I agree with LindsayB
