You’ve never ceased to amaze me,
Your beauty rises so thick,
And even though we are so different,
With our connection we certainly click…
Our childhood brings many memories,
Of confusion, loss and neglect,
Even though you are my little sister,
It’s my life you’ve tried to protect…
The craziness always continued,
You’ve stood by me no matter the cause,
I’ve hit the ground in much chaos,
Many difficult and traumatic falls…
You’re hope in me ceaselessly unending,
You never judged but yet became real stern,
You stopped giving into my antics,
But always with loving concern..
You were tired of all disappointment,
Tired of the worry I created for you,
All the madness my life has presented,
The wasted years went by, they flew…
I’m surprised that we are still standing,
After all of the heartache and pain,
The sleepless nights, turmoil and wreckage,
For my life’s been totally insane…
Your strength is enduring and permanent,
Your courage is part of my being,
My self esteem always in the gutter,
But my good heart you were still seeing…
It was my decision to run so quickly,
And to push my family aside,
The loyalty amidst my loved ones,
But by society I could not abide…
My fear and my pride were in dominance,
My shame could not be released,
But without you along by my side,
I was so lost and without any peace…
Awoke numb in the mornings without you,
Missed you so much I thought I would die,
In misery and deplorable conditions,
All I could do was lie there and cry…
Felt so lonely without my companion,
Bursting out in agony,
And in my moment of clarity,
I figured I’d give one more plea…
I called out to God in silence,
I felt suffocated and couldn’t breathe,
Praying and wondering inside,
Did I have just one more reprieve?
Images of my so cherished sister,
Came floating within my dark mind,
I was begging for God’s forgiveness,
Please Jesus help me just one more time..
Surrendering in that one moment,
Rejoiced because I knew within,
If my prayers were so humbly answered,
I’d have back my sister, my friend..
