You’re cold like lemonade,
soft like summer rain.
The shark circling my kayak,
In the night time when it’s pitch black.
The honey bee pollinating the flower bed,
One sting and you’ll be dead.
The blade of grass in the yard that’s lonely,
it makes no sense they’re not the one only.
The beer that floats inside your stomach,
keeps you happy like reaching the summit.
The long lost friend, inside your head.
The sunlight gleaming every word you’ve said.
Its not for now so keep it for later,
our favorite album is “Alligator.”
The painter paints the painted wall,
I’m the ladder begging for the fall.

Mmmh. I had to read this slowly twice to truly understand the analogies. Some of your comparisons I never head before in a love poem; that’s if this really is a love poem. Like you described a kayak and a shark circling it; I had never heard of that before so definite points for creativity. I enjoyed this poem and felt that it was different.
Love can be so subjective.
