Closing my vision and drifting off to sleep.
I never knew how my mind could crawl into the deep.
Its freezing my body is going numb.
My heart is beating just like a drum.
The iceberg floating down the river, the rapids are fierce.
The eyes glowing into the woods, they pierce.
I am scared and the sun is gone, its very dark.
I am pretty sure you will see my finger nails scratching at the bark.
I tried to escape the ice.
I took a gamble and it wasnt nice.
I looked around trying to find my location.
This is not a trip or a vacation.
It stops got stuck on a rock.
The winds picked up and disengaged the lock.
There you were helping me in my time of need.
My roots spread and you planted the seed.
I am just glad you found me and you were persistent.
My soul calling and echoing and your paws were never distant.

I like how this poem tells a journey of emotions. I also really enjoy some of your words choices like “disengaged,” “crawl,” and “pierce.”
