Chapter 5: Day off
“BEEP” ugh come on I don’t need my alarm! I reached over and grabbed my alarm clock to check what time it was, 11:39am! Hum, well I guess my alarm went off many times, I just was too tired. I’m kind of glad I got to sleep in, I needed it.
Well okay one day to do nothing. What do I do? Do I have any homework? Maybe a story? Oh yep. I got out my laptop and brought it to my bed, might as well work and be lazy at the same time.
Okay, this story is about realistic fiction, easy. About a girl in drama at school in… uh… musical theater. Yes! And her name is Abbie Jones. Perfect!
When I write stories, my whole mind blows up with words and possibilities! I mean, I could write all day if I wanted. There is no bad story in my book. Get it? Book… story? Okay sorry, jokes aren’t funny when you explain them.
As a worked on my story I hear a knock at my door upstairs, didn’t think much of it, usually just a sales man, until my dad called me up stairs.
“Alex, someone is at the door for you…” He yelled to me from up the stairs.
It was probably just a package or something like that. But when I checked the door, I was surprised.
“Bosten?” I said while questioning if I was seeing things, “what are you doing here?”
“Well, I could tell you got in trouble, I came here for lunch. I brought food.” He showed me the food from my favorite place, “Or not, I can leave…”
“No, it’s okay. Come with me.” he followed me down stairs to my room,” Sorry, I need to clean it…”
“cleaner than my room.” He smiled at me as he gave my meal.” thanks. Now, why did you come here for reals!”
“Well you are not at school and Josh and Conner weren’t here again today and I know you would be hungry.”
“Well thanks.”
Yummy my favorite! Chicken BLT with strawberry lemonade. Wow he knows me so well.
We ate are food and chatted about classes and such. Then any there awkward 10 second silence.
“Are you okay?” he asked me.
“Thanks…”
“For what?”
“Saving me life in prison…”
“Yeah no problem.” He giggled, “It was nothing, just didn’t you want to hurt anyone…”
“Too late.” I snickered.
We smiled and looked at each other in each other’s eyes, smile, after a few moments.
He cleans his throat, “Sorry, I should get going, class is staring soon.”
“Yeah, thanks for coming.”
Class, what classes would I have today? Well, I have Science, Family studies, French, and History. Oh yeah and I had a swimming practice today. Oh yeah! I had swimming practice today! Oh shot! What is coach going to say? I hope she doesn’t kick me out.
I wonder if Riley noticed that I was gone. Who cares anyways, he’s going out with Isabella. The whole school probably knows how stupid and boy crazy I am now and knows I like him and that I’m so mean that I slap someone and that…
I need to calm down. Talk to someone. Can’t talk to Mom, she left to go to New York this morning, and she wouldn’t care anyways. Same with my dad, he doesn’t get me. And my sister… well… I think her problems are worse than mine. And I don’t want to face the facts, but I don’t think she’s coming back this time. She has ran away many times, but my mom or my sister just say that she went to grandmas. Now that I think about it, they don’t really have a good relationship.
I missed her already…
Ok looking for the positives. I got food, I got sleep, the story I’m writing has a good character, my rooms… ugh… was clean? I couldn’t… today just sucked… my life sucked.
I’m sorry, I need a walk. So, I got out of bed changed into black jeans, black tank top, and a sweat shirt that was salon colored. I wore my black boots, because it was it snowed a couple days ago. Nice and warm and cozy. Before I went outside, I brought my phone and earbuds to listen to music, put on gloves, and then my black coat.
I listened to music while I walked around looking, and armoring, my surroundings. What a beautiful place… I was listening to my favorite, 80’s. All I needed was to calm down and that’s what happened. Forget.
