The Awakening of the Forest
By:Gen1900
The Trees moan in pure joy as the sun kisses the tips of their leaves;
Golden and pink colors cascade through the green canopies.
Dawn has arrived and the foliage is awake;
But still the animals are yet to quake.
As the creatures lay quietly sleeping;
The flowers faces are welcoming the sun with a warm, colorful greeting.
Soon the birds uncurl their weary heads;
They grab a stick here and put it there as if to make their beds.
The chicks open their black eyes to see a bright yellow light shine;
All they need is worms for them to be fine.
Then down on the earthy floor . . . sits a squirrel with his claws digging in the dirt mold;
He is ready to discover the treasure of nut gold.
A larger beast wanders through the trees;
Her brown and white spot coat wripples as her fawn nestles behind her.
The morning in the forest is something you can see;
But remember be quiet and still as can be.
