The Boundary: Chapter Four
By: Gen1900
“Stop looking like the moon crashed into you,” said Falcon with a snap of attitude.
We couldn’t help it; staring at him with wide eyes. He just told us he knew why were behind a wall! He just revealed why we go through grueling training for five hours a day, barely getting to see our family members!
I forced myself back to reality, and gave him a cruel look. What happened to the shy boy I saw such a short time ago? This new kid was mean and treated us like a bunch of dumb goats.
“I’m not scared of you, Pepper,” he said, tauntingly.
Tricity moved next to me, as if ready to strike the black-haired boy she hardly knew.
“Look here, Mister. You think you can do whatever you want to us, but you can’t. You just said that you knew why we’re here and I hope you explain to each and everyone what the hell is going on. If you don’t . . . ,” she laughed darkly, “oh, you’ll suffer.”
“I am NOT scared of anyone here,” barked Falcon under his breath.
“Please tell us,” I said. My voiced hinted a sense of kindness so that he might return to his first shy self.
Suddenly Falcon sighed.
“What have you to sigh about? We should be the ones sighing!” cried Tricity.
“They . . . they, ” his voice growing quickly weaker. His hands grasped his throat like an attacker was squeezing the life out of him. His nice eyes started to roll back into his head.
Before he passed out, Falcon’s last words were:
“They’re controlling me.”
And then the president stepped up to the platform and announced, “Good morning everyone . . .”
