A red barn, with white trim.
Horses and cows inside.
Dirt roads, pastures,
another barn for chickens.
Fields and orchards with plants growing.
Fruits and vegetables.
Eggs and milk and meat.
Rolling green hills, pretty oak trees.
A single house, loved,
brown and white,
with a landscaped yard,
full of manicured bushes,
and a koi pond.
A shed, with tractors and tools.
Lots of tasks to complete,
but rewarding ones they are.
Evenings, sitting on the porch,
listening to the crickets,
satisfied with my days work.

I like the simple imagery you use here. It makes the reader think about simple farm life and evokes imagery of this peaceful life that we all want (at least a little bit). I’d recommend breaking this up into stanzas, though, to separate your thoughts. If you spread the poem out into stanzas, it slows it down a little and lets the reader breathe while they’re picturing the images you’re describing. Spacing can make your words shine!
Thank you very much for your feedback. I am so glad you liked the poem. I normally haven’t used stanzas in these style poems, but I like your recommendation, I think I will try it, if not in this poem then a future one.
