The veil undone, a mask removed this day.
The trek was long, a cruel sender of hate.
But sad folly demands it’s usual pay.
And a misspent year will always berate.
It takes without asking, naught for exchange.
A dark plunder that will never decline.
A fit somewhere between evil and strange.
You cannot speak well about it’s design.
A form is born from games lavished wild.
The markings arranged with usual care.
The things that we did, were never done mild.
As we came, we leave with nothing to spare.
Heed not the ticks, but prepare a new dance.
For nothing can dissuade the hourglass glance.

This poem was very rhythmic, and shows your expert control over the language. Your diction and style work quite well together, and your rhymes weren’t over overwhelming, which I find is often the case with ABAB CC poems.
