We descended down the stone path
Surrounded by towering and heightened trees
Standing like rows of life filled pillars above our heads
Hoping to reach the end of our journey soon
It wasn’t until nightfall when we reached the river
And climbed into the boat which groaned under our weight
Now setting off afloat we drifted southwards
Until we closely saw the glowing lights from home
Finally we make it back to our families
Whose doors and arms are open wide for us
