Chapter I:
Liam took out his pencil and took a deep breath, for a presentation, he had to write down the whole script which was required to consist of three paragraphs and supposed to be very detailed. He wrote down with his new pencil, “World War II was a very extreme conflict and basically ended the world”. He saw everything around him flicker and change. No one was there and the school had transformed into a building that reeked of destruction and death. He gasped out loud and looked around, feeling dread knowing that his sentence had something to do with it. He erased the sentence and nothing happened. Liam started to panic a little, feeling as if he ruined the world forever. Then, as he thought of voiding the paper in its entirety, the horrible mess faded around him and the bell rang. He jotted down quickly, “The second period for Liam was changed to free time at the last minute for a brief schedule change”.
Sure enough, his teacher told him to stay after a little to explain the minor schedule change. Liam felt powerful, as he could change anything in the world he wanted! Little did he know, his changes would cause major events that could ruin how society functioned. Liam felt smart, having changed the next week into a day without school due to some electricity problem. He had a new notebook and his special pencil never seemed to run out of lead. “Ughh, I’m bored. Let’s have a bit of entertainment.” Liam said. He wrote down, “Gravity on earth ceased to exist for ten seconds, causing no problems surprisingly despite what scientists would have expected and guess as to what would actually occur.” Then everything started floating around. Liam ‘flew’ around the room and then the ten seconds ended, causing more than one thing to shatter upon impact to the ground.
“Whoops…” He said, feeling guilty as to what had happened.
He wrote, “Everything broken during the ten seconds gravity stopped working immediately was repaired beyond science”. Everything was fixed instantly. The next week when Liam went to school, everybody there seemed depressed, even the teachers themselves! He asked them what was up and they responded with either, “Karma certainly has had its own mysterious ways this month.” or “Focus on your school work and don’t get distracted!!”. Liam began to think that maybe messing with the way karma was supposed to work, could have a minor impact on what could happen in the near future.
