Usually life arrives at the cost of pain at times even death, someone suffers and to another life is given. We’ll soon celebrate Easter, a remembrance of someone suffering and death then rising from the grave for us all victory and life because someone paid.
The Bible we read
three crosses that crucifixion day
Jesus between two thieves
three crosses, three men slay
middle, God’s son the begotten
terrible way to die
minds not soon forgotten
pain unbearable writhe
mockery and misery
shadow of death a cross
and there was three
three crosses three lives lost.
Death and three crosses
splintery wooded timbers
sun beaming down
and Jesus the death as of a sinner
soldiers and people all around
watching life slip away
as blood soaked the wood and ground below
on a hill called Golgotha
also rightly the skull named
those observing could never know
heaven had in mind
three crosses one for mankind, our souls!
Three men, three crosses the horizon
soon all the world this event
beforehand told, prophecies and writing
a way to rid a person of sin
something in the blood
that man the center cross
He wasn’t just a man, but God’s son
deliverance dripped, but not a drop lost
for every man, woman, and child he hung
as a sheep to slaughter and now we know the cost
from death Jesus arose the third day
three crosses and Jesus defeated death for us all a way!
