Saving money can be really hard, but it doesn’t have to be. In our society, we live in a world that’s heavily influenced by our smart phones. With our smart phones, we can order food, catch a ride with a taxi, and possibly even find love with them. So why not use our smart phones to save money? But how do we do this? The simple answer is this: we download money saving apps.
Here are the top 2 money saving apps:
1. Mint- This app is a budget tracker app. With Mint, you can sync your bank account information and all of your bills in one app. Mint will also allow you to set a weekly budget on how much you want to spend for each specific money spending category. Say for instance you wanted to only spend $40 per week on groceries: because you synced your bank account, Mint will track how much money you’ve spent on groceries for the week, and it will notify you if you go over the spending limit. Mint will also send you notifications when an upcoming bill is due. Towards the very end of each month, Mint will give you a monthly progress report on how well you’re doing with staying on budget, and it will show you any spending trends it’s noticed over the month. Finally, Mint is owned by the same company as Intuit Turbo Tax, so you will be able to get a monthly review on how well your credit score is for free.
2. Ibotta- This is a rebate app. With Ibotta, you can find rebates for any local grocery and retail stores nearby. You can also find rebates for online shops as well. Here is how it works: First, you will want to see if you can sync up any of your club membership cards with any of the stores you normally go to. Next, you will unlock the rebates you want to redeem. After that, you will go shopping either in store or online. If you are going to a store that you have already synced your club membership to Ibotta with, your rebates will automatically get redeemed once you’ve scanned your membership card with your transaction. If your club membership doesn’t sync, you will have to take a photo of your receipt and it will automatically send it to Ibotta team member that will review your receipt for rebate reimbursement. It will take up to 24 to 48 hours to see the money from your rebates to hit your Ibotta account. You will sync up your PayPal or Venmo account in order to withdraw your earned rebate money. Please note that you have to earn a minimum of $20.00 back in order to withdraw the money into your PayPal or Venmo account. Once the rebate money is in your account, you can have this money scheduled to get transferred to your real bank account.
