"Twin Peaks"
I m in love with the woman in the mirror, who also happens to be the man in my dreams. I feel her in the curves of my face when he stares at me. It’s no longer uncomfortable, this woman has given me permission to embrace it. To let it wash over me like I ve never known water. He makes this woman in my reflection, stretch to life in all the corners of me. Alive and convinced I can fly, I run to the edge of a cliff and jump without hesitation, knowing he’ll catch me. Beaming with pride, he holds me in the length of his arms and I see her in his smile. “I m proud of you” she says. My neck extends and suddenly with my head held high, I expose my wounds. Resisting the urge to let him lick them, I wear them as a badge of honor. A memory to cherish and guide me to the next mountain to climb.

Wow, I really really loved this poem. It completely blurs the line between man or woman, female, male. It shows gender truly is abstract. Amazing!
