Young and idealistic, off to save the world donned in uniform, an American hero born. Strong beyond his years, exuberant to fight, no one told the soldier this battle was not right. Returning home unwelcome, his hero medals tossed, two legs, one arm missing, his patriotism lost. The lonely Vietnam soldier rolls past you in his chair not only goes unnoticed, but no one seems to care. He was not a hometown hero, he just did what he was told. He massacred the enemy for the lies his country sold. Now alone in his wheelchair all he wants is to forget the nightmares and memories of being a Vietnam Vet. This is INCREDIBLE! I wouldn’t change a thing about it. This message is so heartbreaking because it is true. Only the few soldiers are recognized for their bravery, some of the others are just left to suffer with the consequences of a Nation that has little to nothing for them.
Thank You. I appreciate you feedback and I agree. – Anita
Such a nice piece! You did an amazing job creating emotions and hardships from that time. I would leave it as it is. Nice job!
Thank you, Julia!
