I’m for when you have no other solution,
For when you have no one.
I’m the solution to all your worries.
All your troubles.
All your pain.
All your sadness.
The solution to your future.
But, choose me.. And you can never go back.
Choose me, and your decision is final.
Choose me, and you can disappear
Nothing can be undone.
Choose me, and you’ll be free.
What am I?
-Justin Thorne
Okay, I don’t really know what this is, it’s just something that came to mind when I was reading.

Nice. I like the introspective nature; the honesty that even you, the writer, doesn’t know what the answer is adds a level of appreciation. In the line “choose me, and you can disappear,” did you mean “can’t?” If the decision is final, and nothing can be undone I would think you couldn’t disappear. Unless…there’s a whole deeper meaning behind it. Okay, now my brain hurts. 🙂 I think you did an excellent job bringing your audience into the conversation! The only thing I would add is your personal response/guess. What do you think it is?
My answer is “the loss of empathy or emotions.” You wouldn’t have any pain, sadness, or trouble, and technically you would be free from suffering. The easiest, though probably unhealthiest, way to solve your problem would be not to care anymore. Also, an aspect of your human nature and soul would disappear if you didn’t have that kind of connection to feelings/other people. Wait! I change my previous answer to “apathy.” Yep. That’s what I’m going with. I wonder what others will come up with.
The first person narration makes this super cool and fun to read. It also makes me think about it even after I’ve read it, trying to figure it out. Awesome stuff!
Very ambiguous. That could be many things and the reader knows the quiet distilled answer within themself.
I choose God. very nice
