It was dark in that old theater room, the music from the rave blared loud outside but was muted inside, almost silent. The shadows of dancing people flickered under the door. Was this what you wanted all along? To get me alone in a room no one would hear me, would find me? Fear pounded in my ears.
You said you wanted to watch a movie, and pulled your phone out of your pocket. I remember the bright orange and blue of Tron playing on the tiny screen. That soundtrack still stops me in my tracks to this day, so many years later.
I was so very wrong. As the movie played your hands started exploring me all over. Did you find pleasure in a young girls undeveloped body? I tried to stop your hands, I tried to get up. You held me fast and whispered in my ear not to worry and that you would make me feel good.
The whimpers that came from my throat were not of pleasure but of pain. Your large hand found its way down into my jeans and pulled my underwear to the side. It burned when you forced your way in and I had to choke on my own screams, painful sobs stuck in my chest with no way out. I bit down on my lip, hard enough to rip the skin and draw blood.
In the main room where the party was going I could hear laughter, and it felt as though I was being mocked. Mocked for being a stupid girl that willingly went with an older man to a rave. A young and idiotic girl who followed that man around the building until I was completely alone with him. Trusting him so easily.
“Just watching a movie.” Those were your words when he asked what we were doing. I jumped up as quickly as I could, wincing from the agony of where you had roughly touched me. Never in my life had I felt such a wave of relief. Even though he didn’t know it, this stranger had just saved me.
