Why does a man want what he knows he can’t have and why does he dream of angels when he’s just a lowly mortal? Maybe as a saying about food, “your eyes are bigger than your stomach,” then probably also true with your heart!
Problems ..not before you
kind of a happy go lucky type guy
then at the park
someone so lovely the view
perfect as the sun and sky
blended with rays as a halo
never that to this heart
that day something changed
turned my head, you were gone
your elusive ways, a fire inside claimed!
You became a hunger
I couldn’t satisfy
from not caring now going under
new found appetite
not food or water quench
knew I couldn’t stalk
but your presence so desired
extra careful not to turn you off
only if in your love drenched
each day the park, but your elusive ways!
A thirst as a man the desert
an addiction stronger than drugs
a taste as a wino the sweet taste of wine
a feeling of pain and hurt
wanting your kisses and hugs
am I crazy, your not even mine?
don’t even know you
only a glimpse my mind haunt
pieces this man strew
only your elusive ways sought!
As a shade in the beaming heat
as cold water a burn
An overwhelming need
from your path not turn
even I wondered psychotic
whats wrong my heart, my head
worse than a high strung narcotic
not pills or needles, love instead
trips to the park not number
needless, your elusive ways ..only to wonder!
