The four left behind the destruction of the castle, and headed to a nearby village. The villagers were impressed with thier endeavor, and rewarded thier protection of the lands with an escorted wagon ride home. The trip lasted for three days, and the group talked about thier adventure as they went.
“My home is in those mountians there,” Elleastria said, pointing to a group of snow capped peaks of the horizon.
“I expect you’ll be leaving us soon then?” Drevon asked.
“Most definitly yes, I haven’t seen my home for a long time now. I’m so exited,” She said with a big smile.
“Well, good luck to you, Dragon Lady,” John said with a chuckle.
“And you Jason, where are you off to?” Drevon asked.
“I’m heading back to my homeland as well,” The Immortal said. “I have buisness to attend to there.”
“You also have to take me there,” John said. “I haven’t forgotten your promise.”
“Oh yes, I have not forgotten,” Jason said with a sigh. This roused a chuckle throughout the group.
“What about you Drevon, what will you do?” Jason asked.
“i have no idea honestly. I have no more now than when I left. If you remember rightly, I was a beggar when you found me,” Drevon said glumly.
“Well, why don’t you come with me then,” Ellestria said suddenly.
“You, how would I fit into your home at all?” Drevon said.
“Drevon, there are many people besides those like myself living in my city. I’m sure you would be well suited there,” Ellestria said. “Besides, I’d like it if you stayed with us,” she added with a grin.
Drevon smiled. “Thank you Ellestria, I suppose I will,” he said.
“So it seems we all have something good to return to,” John said with a grin. “It’s almost poetic.”
“I suppose it is,” Drevon said with a shrug.
They came to the mountainous region that Ellestria’s stone city was set in, and Drevon and Ellestria got off.
“Goodbye Jason, goodbye John. It’s been fun!” Ellestria called out with a wave.
“May we see one another again someday, and good luck to you both!” Jason said.
“And don’t get too crazy in there!” John said with a laugh. Drevon didn’t quite know what this meant, so he just nodded to the rouge as the wagon began to move off.
Drevon looked at Ellestria and smiled, and she smiled back. They walked up the slope to the gates of the city, and as the gates opened before them, Drevon looked off towards the horizon. The sun was just beginning to set, and the sky was lit up with a magnificent shade of red and purple. A fitting end to a great adventure, and a beautiful start to a knew world for him. Drevon nodded to the horizon, and stepped into the gates, a look of determination set on his face, as he faced his new life. The stars came out above them, and the sun sank slowly behind the horizon, as the day ended, and the night began.
