Secrets Dark
Promises sealed, special words
Then our pinky’ fingers connect
Our own known handshake
A bond of secrecy just between us
Only 10, but we knew our secrets safe
Later in life I got married, you did to
Not to each other yet a secret hid
We wouldn’t admit it, but we both knew
Then one day unexpectedly we met
Hidden desires couldn’t be quenched
We went too far, now dark secrets
We both belong, but not to each other
Vows and promises both did take
Wonder secrets now, promises and vows
Stronger than words and handshake
Secrets now so deceptive and damaging
Our hearts with each other, our lives with another
Secretly we meet every opportunity
Ours is true love yet with lies and dishonesty
Dark secrets are the light and warmth our hearts
Yet we hide and sneak around as criminals
Cheating and cunning frees an inner peace
Each time so thankful and grasping each one’s love
Seems an irony what feels so right is so wrong
Even our sins, our pinky’ fingers latched promise each
Secret love, promise and handshake deeper and stronger
Our vows and wedding certificate official, what a paradox
Dark secrets happily live with, maybe sadly..we feel no guilt!!
