I’m standing on my porch,
Just my thoughts and me.
Looking at the stormy skies,
And wondering what it would be
If all the storms cleared,
Both nature and man.
What if hatred was gone,
What if peace with Iran?
A world in turmoil,
Is what we currently dwell.
A world of Peace,
Would it be Heaven or Hell?
If people loved each other,
Then no one could do wrong.
There would be no prisons,
Cause everyone got along.
Either the evil doers
Or possessors are freed;
Or there’d be no drugs,
Rapes, Guns or pornography.
Every child stayed in school,
No bully to lurk
No police to ensure
No person to get hurt.
There would be no system,
No course of action.
No nation would oppose another,
Give in to no distraction.
Everyone liked the same thing,
The canned laughter to every joke
We’ve heard a thousand times,
A new we must provoke.
This planet would be of loom,
If we all got along.
Sad, empty, hollow and dull
Singing the same swan song
That each generation sings
To the march of their own drum.
Wanting to change the world again,
The mere thought is of the dumb.
Sure it would be nice
To see the jealousy disappear.
To see love among the rich and poor,
And nothing to fear.
But the cost is much too high,
For any person to pay.
Doesn’t matter if you’re homeless
Or a billionaire on Frisco Bay.
You’d have to stop drugs,
Both prescription and not.
You’d forget the ones you love,
Start the age of the robot.
You wake up each day,
The same routine as everyone.
Drive the same path to the same location,
You’re far from done.
Everyone is everyone’s friend,
No one really cares to know you.
You have no personal or social life,
Already kissed that advue’.
From the day you’re born,
Already registered is your spouse.
A structure is set before you,
Like a lab-grown mouse,
Your future is planned.
You have no friends.
There’s no parties, clubs or proms!
When does the nightmare end?
No fun movies for adults or kids
No structure of martial arts.
No small toys kids would have,
Too many hazardous parts.
Wouldn’t have weapons to protect yourself
If an animal came too close.
Everyone ate the same thing,
Same kind of pork and roast.
One single religion and government,
One single peaceful leader.
The seven years of tribulation,
And God, the massive deleter.
There would be no street crime,
There would be no cars
No trains, planes or boats
No gambling bars.
You would look like everyone else,
Nothing different in any way.
If you tried to change,
You’d be sent astray.
To a location no one knows,
Like we don’t already have some
Location to send the really evil ones
Military killing them for fun.
But then there’d be no military,
Remember, no need for guns.
So does that mean the current bad people
Would fade away into the suns?
Or set free and forgiven,
Cause they could never do it again?
Does any human have that much trust in another?
Anniliation’s birth to begin.
I take a deep breath,
Turn and walk back into my home.
The rain has stopped for now
Think I’ll start writing a poem.
Don’t know what I’ll call it,
Don’t know how it’ll end or cease.
Just know the poem is about,
My eternal search for my peace.

I love your poem. Your poem is probably one of the best I have ever seen. It really describes how wicked this world can be and how you feel about it. I have written poetry myself, but I don’t think it is as good as yours. I love the imagery used and the end rhyme. The poem really flows with your emotions and I respect people like that. Again, I love your poem and I will check out some more of you stuff.
Thank you. I really want to get some of my poems published, but I don’t know how. I’m a very shy person. But it’s how my mind words. That’s 5 minutes inside my head. I lie to you not. But thank you for your words. They mean alot, and I do mean A LOT to me.
Love Always!

So, I’ve also tried to get some stuff published, and a good starting point is submittable.com. You can sign up for their weekly newsletter, which tells you about publishing opportunities.
But just so you know, any person’s chances of getting published are low. You have to keep applying and applying until you get an acceptance letter. And don’t pay any money to submit your piece!
Good luck 🙂
I am looking for peace at my workplace, too. 🙁
Peace is needed all around the world. Everyone should feel like this. your writing is Great. I fell so much like this poem. keep writing, good job
