Paralysis crystallizes
My once streaming eyelashes
And cements me in my place
As if I’ve become
The very cinder blocks
Of the wall
That hold this building up
My bones have added to its skeleton
Plastered there into the structure
A fossil petrified,
Preserved for them to gaze and gawk
At a creature never known to man.
