Oh father of the grand design
For which your people have pined
I hope they won’t think I’m trying to undermined
But why are some people so blind in their mind
Why can’t thay wake up from thier daily grind
Can’t they see a life of drugs, alcohal and cigarettes don’t have to be intertwined
They should surely be able to leave these vises behind
Do they have to be confined to that state of mind
These aren’t things that have been enshrined
They are things that have plagued mankind
They’ve sent us on a slow declined
We should not let our lights be outshined
I know these things are not something for which we are defined
But we shouldn’t let ourselves be sidelined
I’m not trying to be unkind I just pray their lives can be redefined
I know your people have the strength to be unconfined
I want them to see they don’t have to be resigned to a life they may feel has been consigned
