I read something interesting to me the other day. Get a jar and sticky notes. Each week or day, write something positive that happened. Then, at the end of the year, read all of the positive things that happened in your year. How wonderful, isn’t it?
In thinking back on 2017, I had a few good times, but also stumbling blocks and hardships. In 2018, I wish to be a guiding light for someone. I wish to become more appreciative.
One of the good things that happened to me in 2017 was finding this site. Also finding work and completing a couple old tasks.
What will 2018 bring?
I like that someone mentioned, renewal and putting our best step forward. To be mindful and attentive toward our purpose and what we wish to accomplish. How we maneuver in the outside world. To not become too stagnant and monotonous when we come home. The world is rich in many moments.
Surround yourself with good people and see the good. If things aren’t good. Spend time with yourself, keep your goals in place and keep pushing foward.
Be the change you wish to see in the world. -Gandhi.
And don’t shy away from your talents.

This is a very powerful post. I enjoyed reading your thoughts about this past year and the new year. Your thoughts are all positive and inspiring. I like the idea about writing positive experiences down and reading them at the end of the year. I started to do this a few years ago, but never followed through. I really like your sentence, “In 2018, I wish to be a guiding light for someone.” This is a great thing to aspire to be. Everyone needs guidance, and by referring to this guidance as a “guiding light”, you made it sound poetic and beautiful.
